Journey deep into Iceland's central Highlands on this 4-day hiking adventure through the stunning Fjallabak Nature Reserve. Famous for Landmannalaugar and the world-renowned Laugavegur trail, this area offers much more, with hidden trails, colorful rhyolite mountains, geothermal hot springs, and untouched volcanic landscapes.
Day 1 begins with a scenic drive from Reykjavík into the Highlands, followed by a hike to the striking Rauðufossar waterfalls before settling into a cozy cabin at Landmannahellir for three nights.
On Day 2, explore the surreal landscapes of Landmannalaugar, hiking through the largest rhyolite area in Iceland, Blágil, Brennisteinsalda, and Laugahraun, and unwind with a hot river bath.
Day 3 takes you to the summit of Mt. Löðmundur, the highest peak in Fjallabak, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Highlands.
The adventure concludes on Day 4 with a hike to Sigöldugljúfur canyon, visits to majestic waterfalls like Háifoss and Granni, and a stop at the picturesque Gjáin valley before returning to Reykjavík.
