On this private tour of Jökulsárlón, you will have the opportunity to discover the stunning sights and attractions of Iceland's epic South Coast. You will witness breathtaking waterfalls, remarkable black sand beaches, awe-inspiring glaciers, powerful volcanoes, and expansive moss-covered lava fields. All this in a comfortable private SUV or Super Jeep. There is so much to see and explore on this unforgettable journey!

Itinerary

Your private guide will pick you up at your accommodation and together, you'll hit the road to the worlófamous Icelandic South Coast.

Your first stop will be Seljalandsfoss, one of Iceland's most popular waterfalls, where you can get close and even walk behind the falls for some great photos.

Afterwards, we'll continue along the Ring Road, visiting the other giant, Skógafoss waterfall and then heading towards the Hekla volcano, which was once believed to be the "gateway to hell" in the Middle Ages. We'll also spot the Eyjafjallajökull volcano, famous for its disruptive 2010 eruption that grounded air traffic across Europe.

We'll then visit Reynisfjara, a stunning black sand beach with sea stacks and basalt columns, and the little village of Vík í Myrdal, where you can admire the sea rock formations known as Reynisdrangar.

As we continue along the South Coast, you'll witness the changing scenery of green lava fields, black sand deserts, sea cliffs, and glacial rivers before arriving at the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, one of Iceland's most beautiful sights. You'll have time to explore and take in the icebergs floating on the water, some of which have washed up on Diamond Beach like glittering jewels.

While at the lagoon, you can choose to take an optional boat tour (available May to October, weather permitting) at an additional cost. After exploring the lagoon, we'll head back to Reykjavik. Please note that the itinerary is subject to weather and road conditions, and alterations may be necessary in winter due to limited daylight hours.
